Very few people know the real meaning behind this photo.
I’m writing this article while looking at a brand-new 2026 Ducati Monster V2 parked under my carport .
This week, I have the privilege of riding it, exploring it, and creating the first chapter of a content project celebrating Ducati’s centenary.
The beginning of something that will continue to evolve over the coming months.
And while I am genuinely excited about that, this article is not really about motorcycles.
At least not entirely.
Because looking at this photo made me think about something much bigger.
Opportunities.
Life gives all of us opportunities.
Some are small.
Some are unexpected.
Some arrive at exactly the right moment.
Others arrive when we feel completely unprepared for them.
Most people think the important moment is when the opportunity appears.
I don’t.
I think the important moment comes afterwards.
What happens next?
Do you keep going when the initial excitement and curiosity disappear?
Because if there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is that the first step is rarely the bravest one.
The first step is often curiosity.
The first step is exciting.
The first step is full of possibilities.
Real courage comes later.
Real courage is taking the next step after the first one has already shown you how demanding the road can be.
When things become difficult.
When doubts appear.
When continuing suddenly becomes harder than stopping.
That is the moment that matters.
I have seen it in sport.
I have seen it in business.
I have seen it in projects, collaborations and personal challenges.
And every time, the pattern is the same.
The people who grow are not always the most talented.
They are often the people who keep taking the next step.
Not because they know exactly where they are going.
But because they believe the opportunity deserves their effort.
Looking back at my own life, I don’t think the moments that shaped me most were the moments when something began.
They were the moments when I decided not to stop.
When I decided to continue.
When I decided that an opportunity was worth my time, my energy and my commitment.
That decision has taken me to places I never expected.
It has introduced me to remarkable people.
It has opened doors I never imagined walking through.
And it continues to do so.
Which brings me back to this photo.
To most people, it is simply me on a beautiful motorcycle.
And that’s perfectly fine.
But for me, it represents something very different.
Very few people know the real meaning behind this photo.
And honestly, they don’t need to.
Some things are too important to be explained.
They simply need to be lived.
