Some phone calls catch you off guard.♥️
A familiar voice, American, confident, unmistakable: Christian W.
A New York-based photographer I had worked with years ago during a project in USA.
He was in Europe for a job when he called and said few words:
“Silvia, I’m putting together a shoot in Rotterdam. Want to join?”
Let’s be honest. How could I say no?!! 😂
That day started before sunrise, in full stable mode: boots on, hands in hay, cleaning stalls.
By mid-morning, I had already switched to rider mode—on the horse, in the arena.
And then… plot twist.
Makeup done, black body suit, heels on. Studio lights. Flash. Focus. Click.
Photoshoots are more than work to me—they’re a playground.
A place where elegance, strength, irony and intensity all find their voice.
And yes: I absolutely love it.
So when Christian, with over thirty years behind the lens, turned to me and said:
“Sometimes I need to keep you in line—but the energy you bring to set can’t be taught. You either have it, or you don’t.”
OMG!!!!!
Well, I won’t lie. My heart exploded!!! 😂
The result?
A shoot that’s magnetic, raw, and full of presence. Just the way I like it.
And for those who wonder:
“Will she ever stop doing this kind of thing?”
Here’s the simple truth:
I’ll stop the day I stop having fun. And trust me—that day is nowhere in sight. 😉
