Some photoshoots begin long before the first photograph is taken.
They begin with an idea, a location, the right light—and a group of people ready to turn all those separate elements into something real.
The last 36 hours were intense, creative and genuinely beautiful.
We started outside in the golden light of the evening, surrounded by the landscape near the Teutoburg Forest. From there, we moved through different settings, looks and atmospheres, working late and beginning again the following morning.
There was very little sleep, but an extraordinary amount of energy.
I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful team and with a photographer I already knew. There is something special about returning in front of the camera with someone whose way of working you understand—and discovering that you can still create something completely new together.
Every look required a different presence.
Some images were strong and intense. Others were softer, more spontaneous or playful. That is one of the things I enjoy most about photoshoots: you are still the same person, but the light, the clothes, the setting and the energy around you can reveal an entirely different side.
Of course, behind every carefully constructed photograph, there is also everything that never appears in the final image.
The preparation. The changes. The waiting. The small adjustments. The laughter between one shot and the next.
And occasionally, a very serious break involving three cocktails. 😂🍸
We worked hard.
Although this particular photograph may suggest otherwise.
I cannot show you everything we created just yet, but these 36 hours reminded me why the best projects are never only about the final photographs.
They are also about the people, the atmosphere and the feeling you carry home when the cameras are finally put away.
