In 2015, during a competition, I had the rare honor of being invited to the VIP tribune by Valentino Garavani and the Sheikh of Qatar.
After the award ceremony, I was asked to join the VIP area. Valentino wished to meet me.
When I approached him, he looked at me, smiled, and said simply:
“You are divine.”
I never forgot those words.
Not because they were flattering, but because they came from someone who had spent a lifetime recognizing form, balance, and presence — beyond trends, beyond time.
That moment stayed with me.
Quietly.
And in many ways, it shaped how I came to understand elegance: not as something worn, but as something perceived.
Today, as we remember Valentino, I do so with gratitude and respect — for his vision, his discipline, and for the grace he carried into everything he created.
True elegance leaves a trace.
And some encounters remain forever.
