I Want Strength. And Something Good for Dinner.
I want to develop my body. I also want to enjoy what is on my plate.
Both are important to me.
Between riding, exercising and everything else in my day, I ask a lot of my body. It makes sense to pay attention to what I give it in return.
Protein is part of that: our bodies use it to maintain and repair muscle, including after exercise.
But my interest in food goes beyond one nutrient.
I want meals that fit into my life, give me variety and taste good. Something I look forward to eating when I finally sit down.
Eggs, fish, dairy, beans, lentils, meat—ordinary foods can bring protein to a meal. A convenient protein product can have its place as well. There is room for different choices.
What matters to me is making those choices with the whole day in mind.
Training deserves attention. So does eating. I want to build strength while keeping food a pleasure, rather than another task to complete.
There is something very satisfying about working hard, sitting down and enjoying a proper meal.
Especially when the conversation is good and nobody expects me to count anything.
I have already counted enough repetitions.
